I don't know Rusty. But it drives me crazy. Sometimes I just have to abandon a page and start something else. It's almost like I have to get over the idea of drawing poorly before I can draw well. You think Picasso had bad drawing days? Or do you just get over it eventually?

I totally identify with the some days it works and some days it doesn't statement. I wonder why that is. The motor skills should always be there. The same eyes bring the information in. The same brain translates then regurgitates it. So why, can't we consistently produce the kind of images that make us stand back in wonder? There is certainly something magical about it.

Adult tonsillectomy sucks. I had mine at 31, and took 3 weeks to recover before I could even think about eating anything solid. Spent alot of time sleeping and/or doped up. Liquid Vicodin is your friend for this procedure, as is ice water, ice cream, and anything else liquidy and freezing cold. Jaw hurt, ears hurt, neck hurt, head hurt, tongue was swollen, couldn't talk, for about 3-5 days. After that it's just the throat hurting. Don't expect to recover quickly - all that business about going back to work in 3 days...yeah right. Three days after surgery you'll be looking for someone to stab, but you won't be able to because you'll be so doped up on pain meds you'll just end up stabbing yourself...and believe me, you'll want to. All that being said, it was worth it - haven't been sick since.

Hey I am a mother of two and am currently day 8 after my tonsillectomy and I still am having trouble swallowing. I really do not think I had enough information about this procedure before the surgery. If I would of had more information about it I think I might have held off. I too had laser surgery and had the white spots ( still do ) Although for some reason one side of my mouth still has a gaping hole. My mother tries to reassure me that this will close up more with time but right now I fear I may never be able to eat food again because it will all get lost in this huge hole. I unfortunately had allergic reactions to the general anesthesia and therefore could not take pain medications afterwords. I was prescribed codeine, but this caused dizziness and nausea, and then was prescribed supeodol which is narcotic based and this caused vomiting so severe that i was re-hospitalized for a night. So 2 extra strength Tylenol crushed up and swallowed amongst some pudding is all I am aloud. I have to say I am not a happy camper. Good luck to any one else having to undergo this.

I just had my tonsillectomy last Friday and I too was having trouble finding others' accounts of their surgeries. My boss told me she had her tonsils out not too long ago and that I'd be back at work fine in 3 days (wrong). It sounds like you didn't have too hard of a time with it- although your blog above was written only 24 hours later...Let me just tell you...Cory, Brittany...good luck. My first 24 hours were great. I came home, took a nap, drank a bunch of gatorade, took percocet every 4 hours and felt fine. Well...2 days later I was miserable. My entire head was throbbing, my neck and glands were swollen and my ears felt like I was getting an infection (they told me this would happen). Tomorrow will be exactly a week since my surgery. Right now, I'm sitting here eating pudding for lunch. And even that hurts. Drinking gatorade stings sometimes too. The best thing I've been drinking is arizona diet green tea. It's not too strong so it's easy on my throat, but it still tastes good. Jello, pudding, popcicles, soup is also good...chicken broth, etc. I made the mistake of trying semi-solid foods too early, like mac and cheese. I think the pieces were too big and they disturbed my wounds on the way down. Today was the first day I was able to come back to work and like I said...I still have a very sore throat and am limited to soft foods. Best of luck to both of you though, hope your experience is better than mine!
